Hobbies

Learning has always been a passion of mine. I grew up in a small town in northern Indiana, and worked hard to put myself in a position to go to college. Upon graduation from high school, I attended Indiana University and poured myself into academics and improving my community whether that be my residence hall, academic department, or university as a whole. During college I served on numerous faculty and administrative advisory boards on the university level and influenced policy decisions that directly affected students. I also became an avid volunteer in the community and advocate for the homeless population in Bloomington and the international student population at Indiana University. I will be attending medical school starting in the Fall of 2014. Therefore, I am also willing to tutor topics and skills related specifically to the MCAT. I also understand the pressures that premedical students face due to the expectation (whether internal or external) that students remain very involved while maintaining very strong grades. It is my goal to not only assist students academically, but also personally, by helping them navigate these stressors and balance their obligations.
