Experience
When I was growing up, even at a younger age, I had varied moments of helping my peers with homework (even younger kids in elementary school), especially English and Christian theology. However, in all genuineness, I was never truly interested in teaching or tutoring any subjects professionally when I was at a appropriate age to do so (high school). However, at the end of 2013 (when I was attending Concordia University Chicago), I came across an e-mail from the Academic Center for Excellence addressing a professor recommendation for me to become a paid Peer Tutor. I applied, was hired, and began working in the month of January 2014. I found that I absolutely LOVED tutoring. It was fun to help other students learn the subjects I was assigned (philosophy, English, theology, reading & writing), to share my large yet finite knowledge with others, to cultivate my peers' own mental & language talents (I even worked with students who had an academic probation status and/or certain learning disabilities, which I enjoyed), to help develop their study skills when the time came, and sometimes to have a laugh or two (sometimes more). Unfortunately, it was my last semester at CUC in 2014 so I was not able to do it the next semester, but I hope to continue tutoring in some shape or form throughout my life and progress my development in being in such a position. Will you help me with this aspiration? Will we continue to learn and grow together, young and old? My hand as a professional, imperfect, restorative, and down-to-earth human being is open to you in both clear honesty and human compassion. If you do decide to hire me, I look forward to meeting you (and if applicable, your parents); I look forward to helping you learn, develop, and apply your own skills as well as learn a little about your own self. I pray working together will be an enjoyable yet enlightening experience. Au revoir!
